Necromancer

Necromancers direct their focus on (surprise surprise) the arts of
necromancy. Necromancers deal with the dead and ultimately with The Death
itself. They gain deep understanding of both life and death, and also
afterlife. Necromancers often communicate with The Underworld, with the realm
of the dead. They can animate corpses, creating undead followers of various
power and skills.

Necromancers are often considered to be evil, but the whole concept of being
good or evil is foreign to them. Necromancers just follow their path, they do
not need their enemies to suffer. They just work with death. It is true that
they often call for help of forces which are usually considered evil, but in
fact The Underworld and The Death are purely neutral forces, ultimately
consuming good and evil without any difference. And similarly indifferent to
these concepts are necromancers.

Necromancers have inherent resistance to paralysis and similar effects, equivalent
to a -5 bonus to saving para. This bonus is applied after all other effects,
possibly beyond maximum saving cap.

Legendary Skills

Lifeforce Management

Necromancers deal with force of life itself. While different necromancers deal with it differently, and in fact view it in completely different way, there is a school of necromancy that focuses on exploration of the underlying nature of life force. And with understanding comes ability to manipulate it with greater precision to achieve more powerful effects. The master of lifeforce management can cast his draining spells to return more life to him, do more damage, even convert drained life energy directly to mana more effectively.

Contracts with Death

The whole idea of necromancy is to deal with death. But death is not just an event, it is also a natural force, and as any natural force it is also embodied in an avatar, a personification. This avatar is usually unseen but even then, the necromancer can communicate with it. She can enter into binding agreements with Death itself. These contracts make the necromancer more resistant to damage, increase power of her spells and allows her to send her enemies to Death\'s embrace earlier than normal. In exchange, she is expected to act as Death\'s assistant, be the one who reaps the final spark of her enemies.

Corpse Handling

There is more to corpses than just turning them into skeletons or zombies. Or healing oneself by draining the corpse of all its residual energy. Advanced studies of corpse handling allows the necromancer to use corpses for additional interesting effects, like temporary boosts for spellcasting or even turning a corpse into an armor or shield that soak up all incoming damage until destroyed. Ultimately, the master of corpse handling can even use the connection the corpse has to instantly travel to the place where the corpse was created, in other words where the original creature was killed. Finally, the pinnacle of corpse handling is the ability to return fallen comrade back to life, although that comes at great cost to the necromancer\'s own life force.

Living Graveyard

Living graveyard builds on necromancer\'s ability to animate dead enemies to help her on her adventures. She can animate more powerful minions, either as animated versions of their former selves or even as special-purpose minions like the sword-wielding Skeleton King, magic-slinging Vampire Lord or the terrifying Wraith Master. Eventually she becomes able to animate dragon corpses as powerful ghost dragons that retain many of the abilities they have in life. And ultimately she can turn a ghost dragon into a dracolish, a powerful undead dragon that has full powers of dragonkind combined with maximum advantages of its undead state.
