Sorcerer
Sorcerers are mages who decided to learn more about the very essence of magic.
They want to understand how magic works, why it works that way and what can be
done to make it work different ways. Sorcerers cast spells based on their
theoretical knowledge, their magic is rigorous, their spellcasting uses flow
of magic force through the reality. Sorcerers are masters of arcane arts, and
they have spells for nearly every situation. Also sorcerers are able to
augument their mana reserves with their physical health, drawing from their
vital force to cast more spells than normally possible.
Sorcerers have inherent resistance to magical damage, equivalent
to a -5 bonus to saving spell. This bonus is applied after all other effects,
possibly beyond maximum saving cap.

Legendary Skills
Fire Magic is a branch of magic specializing in mastery of fire. While it
is very narrow specialization, it more than makes up for it by the sheer
power. Masters of Fire Magic can burn almost anything to crisp and they
can tap into their inner fire not only to cast more fire spells by
themselves but also induce their magic equipment to unleash its fire
magic more often.
Cold Magic is a branch of magic that embraces cold, ice and anything frozen.
The cold magic specialist cannot cast super-powerful spells. In fact, their
spells have pretty much the same power as those of non-legendary sorcerer.
Why bother, then? Because cold magic specialist can tap into the deep nature
of spacetime where everything is smoother when it is colder. And this allows
cold magic specialist to cast absurd number of spells during a time when
other spellcasters manage to produce just one. Not only is spellcasting
in super-cold state more efficient, requiring much less mana, but it can
ultimately trigger echoes of the spells, increasing number of spells even
further. The legends do mention cold magic specialists unleashing fourteen
spells in single round, after all.
Force Magic is about crushing enemies into oblivion. Or, if crushing proves
unsatisfactory, slashing them into bits. Optionally, piercing holes into
them. Force magic is about appling raw brute force, without much finesse.
This brings considerable advantages, like ability to project force
in the form of battering ram, battering through locked doors (but note that
some doors are resistant to brute force like this) or creation of protective
force fields.
There are several ways how to see spellcasting. As an innate ability,
as a gift from the gods, as a mark of power, as an art or many others.
Sorcerers who specialize in arcane theory view spellcasting more like
sort of science. Arcane theory consists of study of spellcasting techniques,
the most efficient ways to perform magical gestures, knowledge of most
basic principles of magic. Basically seeking to understand how magic
actually works. Study of arcane theory involves deeper understanding
of channelling, dispelling, spellcasting in general and overall magic
control.
