There are some spells which are relatively easy to cast but really hard to get rid of, because for some reason it is unusually difficult to reverse their casting process. Paralyze is one of such spells. Characters who know paralyze spell learn it soon after specialization, but to gracefully remove it one needs long study and great experiences of healing magic. Of course you can use dispel magic, but it usually dispels also many useful spells, which may not be exactly what you want, especially in the middle of tough battle. Spell remove paralysis unparalyzes target, and for some strange reason it is also able to dispel web sometimes. It doesn\'t work against mind stop, as mind stop doesn\'t paralyze victim\'s body but works on psychic level, where it is out of reach of priest\'s healing powers.
