Inner Warrior

Occasionally a swordsman hears calling of her inner voice ring especially true and decides to listen to it more closely. This leads her on the Path of Inner Warrior, where swordsman learns to use mystic energies from the depths of her soul and perform feats which easily rival those of others who practice magic. Actually skills accessible on Path of Inner Warrior are, indeed, based in magic, only swordsmen using this Path do not actually cast spells, they use magic in different ways. Mostly through their swords. Swordsman can use her inner warrior to partially soak incoming damage at the cost of her mystic energy, expressed as mana. Swordsman who wants to embark on this path must train rigorously before she can use even this basic skill but the potential rewards are great. Listening to her Inner Warrior reduces damage swordsman is receiving by 2%. Each 10hp thus prevented cost swordsman 1 mana.

Cost of Inner Warrior decreases to 1 mana per 15 saved hp.

Extended Inner Warrior

Cost of Inner Warrior decreases to 1 mana per 20 saved hp.

Enhanced Inner Warrior

Cost of Inner Warrior decreases to 1 mana per 30 saved hp.

Cost of Inner Warrior decreases to 1 mana per 50 saved hp.

Inner Defense

Inner warrrior soaks some damage swordsman should take but by itself it is insufficient to make big difference. Inner warrior can increase her defenses to provide greater damage reduction, should swordsman ask for it. As mana expenditure is directly proportional to the amount of damage soaked by inner warrior, swordsman needs to decide how powerful inner defense to employ to ensure she can last with her mana reserves for the whole fight. While swordsman listens to her Inner Warrior, the damage reduction increases to 4%.

Damage reduction provided by swordsman's Inner Warrior increases to 8%.

Enhanced Inner Defense

Damage reduction provided by swordsman's Inner Warrior increases to 10%.

Soul Dance

Not only can swordsman's inner warrior soak damage but this part of swordsman's soul can also express itself in the movement of swordsman's weapons. This is known as Soul Dance and allows the swordsman to feel ebb and flow of the battle with greater clarity and place her swords at the precise position where she can best parry opponent's attack. Soul Dance provides bonus to parry but each successful parry costs 1 mana.

Mystic Meditation

Swordsman is warrior by training and is not used to regenerate their mana reserves. With proper training, this predisposition can be overcome and swordsman can learn how to meditate and regain mana more quickly. With Mystic Meditation swordsman is able to convert 15% of her hitpoint regen rate to mana.

Conversion in Mystic Meditation increased to 40%.

Enhanced Mystic Meditation

Conversion in Mystic Meditation increased to 60%.

Cooling Swords

With greater understanding of the mystic energies in her own soul, swordsman can use the inner fire burning at the heart of every being and utilize it to soak some of the incoming flames. Swordsman creates a channel between her swords and center of her soul, making the swords colder to the touch, as heat touching the swords is sucked inside, without harming the swordsman. Channelling heat this way drains swordsman's mana reserves. Using Cooling Swords reduces incoming fire damage by 5% and costs 1 mana per every 10 saved hitpoints.

Warming Swords

In similar way as swordsman can channel outside heat into her soul, she can also draw warmth from within and use it to dampen cold attacks. Using Warming Swords reduces suffered cold damage by 5% but cost 1 mana per 10 saved hp.

Effectiveness of Warming Swords increases to 9%.

Mystic Swords

There isn't always time for mystic meditation. Sometimes swordsman needs to fight for a long stretch of time at once and needs to replenish her mana reserves during combat. With Mystic Swords she can do just that. As she blocks incoming hits, either fully or partially, she uses energy of the incoming attack to refill her mana a bit. Each successful parry replenishes 1 mana and each hit that lands adds 1 mana per 200hp lost.

Improved Mystic Swords

Swordsman is now better able to utilize energy of incoming hits and she now regains 1 mana per 175hp lost.

Extended Mystic Swords

Whenever swordsman successfully parries an incoming attack she now regains 2 mana instead of one.

Enhanced Mystic Swords

Swordsman has gained better understanding of her mystic powers and whenever she gets hit by an attack, she now recovers 1 mana per 150hp lost with her Mystic Swords.

Advanced Mystic Swords

Swordsman's understanding of her Mystic Swords is now complete and she regains 1 mana per every 100 hitpoints lost from incoming attack.

Freezing Swords

Swordsman can intensify the channel strength to such a level that her swords seem to change to a piece of deep-frozen ice. Swords transformed this way are numbingly cold and deal cold damage instead of normal. Conversion costs 1 mana per 100 damage dealt.

Flaming Swords

Not only is swordsman able to draw warmth from her soul to protect her from cold, with proper training she can draw such amounts to cover her blades with flames, converting damage she deals to fire. Conversion costs 1 mana per 100 damage dealt.

Swirling Swords

Understanding of the flow of elemental energy through her soul, swordsman is able to fortify her soul, and thus even her mind, against attacks designed to tear apart her mental faculties. This fortification is not for free, too. Using Swirling Swords reduces mental damage swordsman suffers by 5% but it costs 1 mana for each 10 hitpoints thusly saved. Additionally, each mind-affecting enchant has 10% chance of not affecting her, costing 25 mana each time.

Psychic damage is now reduced by 7% and mind-affecting enchants fail 15% of the time.

Extended Swirling Swords

Psychic damage is now reduced by 9% and mind-affecting enchants fail 25% of the time.

Psychic damage is now reduced by 11% and mind-affecting enchants fail 50% of the time.

Psychic damage is now reduced by 15% and mind-affecting enchants fail 90% of the time.

Freezing Vortex

Freezing swords can not only deal cold damage, but swordsman can also move them in special spiral pattern, creating a vortex of elemental energy that siphons cold elemental energy (actually swordsman emits heat from her soul through the vortex to neutralize the cold) to dampen cold area spells or cold breath weapons. Freezing Vortex dampens cold area damage by 20% for a cost of 1 mana per 1000hp saved.

Flame Vortex

By reaching great understanding of the fire element, swordsman can also suck into her soul fire energy raging around her in form of fire-based area spells of fire breath. Swordsman moves her flaming blades in special spiral pattern, creating a vortex that siphons some of the energy of the fire raging around, reducing damage done to her and her companions. Flame Vortex dampens power of fire area spells and fire breath by 20%, costing 1 mana per each 1000 mana saved (before target's fire resistance is applied).

Enhanced Flame Vortex

Dampening cost is reduced to 1 mana per 2000hp soaked.

Shroud Of Ice

With freezing swords swordsman can extend the endpoint of the channel to depths of her soul, where she can draw heat from surroundings. This extension shrouds swordsman with layer of energy that looks like ice coating but actually provides the swordsman with protection against all but the most powerful cold-based attacks, as those attacks are negated by the fire burning deep inside swordsman's soul. Unfortunatelly this connection can be easily overloaded by fire-based attacks which thus cause far greater damage than normal. Shroud of Ice provides 99% immunity to cold but doubles fire damage swordsman receives. Holding the shroud costs 500 mana in the first round, twice as much in the second round, three times in the third round and so on. When swordsman turns off her shroud it doesn't disappear completely but fraction of it remains for some time and while it remains, full shroud can't be activated.

Swordsman can project the mystic energy, originally used for soul fortification, from her soul along her blades, causing them to shine with brilliant light and ultimately converting their material essence into pure psychic energy. Hit by such psychic blades causes mental trauma instead of physical damage. Conversion costs 1 mana per 100 damage dealt.

Having learned enough about the power of mind and soul, swordsman can use her inner warrior to absorb far more damage than before and for smaller price. Mystic Defense provides extra 10% of damage reduction for a cost of 1 mana for each 50gp soaked.

Swordsman can now use her inner warrior more effectively to reduce incoming damage by further 5%.

Extended Mystic Defense

Cost of Mystic Defense decreases to 1 mana per 75hp soaked.

Enhanced Mystic Defense

Swordsman can now use her inner warrior more effectively to reduce incoming damage by further 5%.

Frequent Shrouding

Swordsman can produce temporary near-immunity against some attacks but doing so not only drains her resources quite a lot but also exhausts her mind significantly. With frequent shrouding swordsman can start another shroud even before she is fully recovered from previous use but new shroud drains her resources as if she just continued with previous shroud and didn't start new one.

Shroud Explosion

Swordsman can violently release her shroud insted of damping it down to nothingness. In doing so, swordsman creates an explosion which damages all enemies with the energy used for the shroud. The amount of damage depends on the number of rounds swordsman held the shroud. The explosion deals 50Dlevel damage for each round shroud was active.

Swordsman decides attack threshold which should trigger the shroud and when she is attacked by such a powerful fire-based attack, her instincts take over and immediately open the channel deep into her soul where her inner fire is burning. This initial attack is also channeled through and doesn't hurt her as it normally would. Instinct trigger is not for free, however. When shroud is triggered, it drains 1000 mana from swordsman, and the shroud itself will need to be fed as normal after it activates.
