Druid understands many aspects of nature and knows that nature has many faces. As her connection to nature grows, she develops deeper understanding of elemental forces. While this is just a stepping stone towards manipulation of all aspects, initially it allows her to cast her elemental spells (based on air, water, fire or earth) in a special way to make them more powerful. This skill provides 4% increase damage for druid elemental spells (sun ray, moon ray, angry earth, air press, plus all new special elemental spells she learns later) but increases manacost by 25%.

When an elemental savant enables this castmode, her elemental spells have 20% lower chance to be reflected by magic mirror and bouncing shell. It does not help with avoiding other effects, however. The cost of casting elemental spells this way is 20% increase in casting cost.

The storm is summoned with full force but doesn't disappear immediately, instead it lingers for several rounds, dealing a fraction of the initial damage until it expires. If the druid leaves, the connection to elemental forces breaks and the storm subsides. The elemental affliction from angry earth happens automatically under the effect of spitting earth, assuming the elemental savant is using the requisite castmode. Naturally, spitting earth spell requires some earth to work with so it doesn't work in the air or in any kind of watery environment.

If the druid leaves the area, the elemental connection gets broken and the torrents break down. This spell works great in rainy or stormy conditions, adding 25% to its power. On water it is especially more powerful, adding 50% damage. Floating on water during rain or storm is especially unfortunate as these two bonuses both apply. And once druid takes the fight under water, this spell becomes even more terrifying as its power doubles there, even though it could not benefit from rain or storm. While the water torrents are twisting in the area, they greatly amplify the cold rays of the moon so it always setting up water elemental affliction, assuming the elemental savant is using the requisite castmode.

The maelstrom of elemental forces unleashed in these scenarios comes down to the combination of elements involved. And the more elements are involved the more powerful the effect. While invoking volcanic eruption or continent-spanning hurricane won't be very useful in combat, the elemental savant can still distil an essence of this effect. She can do so by combining the elemental echoes on the victim into a powerful explosion. She can kinda 'twist' the echoes into each other, consuming them in the process. The more echoes are twisted, the more powerful explosion. The elemental twist deals levelD100 damage for each elemental echo it consumes. Furthermore, because the echoes are already on the target, effects that can reflect spells do not affect elemental twist, neither does space distortion as the twist doesn't need to cross the space. As long as the target is there, the echoes will be twisted (which means if target blinks out there will be no twisting because target is not there at that moment). The damage type is lowest from cold, fire, body or crush (the types of the elemental spells that can create elemental echoes) but using only types of echoes that are actually present on the target. In other words, the resists mentioned at the top of this help entry are only potential resists elemental twist can use but it always uses only one of them at 100%.

When you are casting disasters, there is 75% reduction in cast time, so you can cast them faster than before.

With convocation storm the elemental savant can use the elemental chaos unleashed by elemental storm to further increase the chance of elemental convocation. The chances of a spell flashing from elemental convocation go up by 20% when elemental storm rages in the room.

While the effect of the storm lingers in the room, the manacost requirement of elemental convocation is reduced to only +5% (instead of +25% as normal). This applies both to spells directly cast by the character and to mana drain caused by spellflash items.

The chance of a spell flashing from elemental convocation increases by 10% for each disaster used for elemental storm, i.e. up to 40% if all four disasters were consumed to create the current elemental storm.
Dependencies: improved convocation stormFurther understanding of convocation storm allows the elemental savant to sometimes empower the spells flashed from elemental convocation so they work the same way as if she directly casts them. The most powerful manifestation is the creation of elemental echoes. One might say that it is irrelevant as elemental convocation only triggers the same spell the savant already cast so what is the point of an extra echo of the same type. Well, there is advanced elemental convocation that allows even area disasters to trigger the convocation. Normally the convoked spell triggered by the disaster won't cause its elemental echo. But with enhanced convocation storm, if there is an elemental storm aftereffect in the room, even the convoked spell has a small chance to trigger its echo. The weakest elemental storm has only a measly 1% to trigger the echo but storm from three disasters increases the chance to 4% and storm from all four disasters cranks up the chance to 9%.
Dependencies: extended convocation stormHaving achieved the advanced knowledge of convocation storm, the elemental savant can now make it be true to its name. The spells triggered by elemental convocation under the influence of elemental storm has higher chance to be affected by power of nature. If the elemental storm was created from two disasters the chance grows by one tenth. For storm created from three disasters it grows by a quarter. But for a storm created from all four disasters the chance is increased by half.

When she is casting her elemental spells she does it to let her magic surf on those flows, augmenting her power with that of the elemental essences around her. This allows her to spend less mana on her elemental spells. Learning One With Elements reduces manacost of druid's elemental spells by 2%.
