Troll
Trolls are famously misunderstood race. Many think of them as primitive and
dangerous race, however they are just misunderstood. It is true that their
intellect is nothing to be proud of and they hate thinking, to the point that
they are many times not thinking at all. And this is the source of their
misunderstandings. A troll once tried to help and save a child from a burning
house, so he rushed straight to the house, through the wall and saved the
child. However the house collapsed and set fire to other houses thanks to that.
All blamed the troll for destroying their houses and situations like that
happen all the time. That doesn't mean that they do not have a kind heart.
Trolls find their calling most often as protectors of the adventuring group,
usually as fighters but just as often as shaolins or even swordsmen or
paladins. While they are not masters of weapons, they can take incredible
amount of physical punishment. So while elven swordsman would parry most of the
blow and scream in pain when an attack connects, troll swordsman parries some
attacks and just shrugs off the rest. They also make decent monks as they enjoy
absorbing the damage from their teammates.
Traits:
Combat Regeneration is one of the reasons they are very good tanks. Just prior
to the end turn starts, trolls will regenerate 3% of their maximum health,
which makes them very hard to kill with a finishing blow. This regeneration
is reduced by half by poison and by half (cumulatively) by cancer sickness.
Dumb As A Rock is a derogatory term applied to trolls but it very well explains
their nature. Trolls are simply too stupid for some mind affecting spells to
take effect (like confusion, brainwash, soul echo or schizophrenia). Those
spells have 50% of simply slipping off them and even if they take hold, the
effect is much smaller. It is also very hard to use mental attacks against
troll, they take 10% less mind damage.
Natural Health increases the hitpoint pool of a troll. Each time a troll trains
constitution above 35 (including repeated trains at ranks), they gain extra 50
maxhit. Furthermore, each time they train a point of additional constitution
(only from trains, not from equip) they gain extra 5 maxhit.
Thick Skin explains another reason why trolls are so hard to kill. They
don't so much try to avoid an attack, their thick skin simply makes it hurt
less. All skill and melee damage the troll takes is reduced by 10%.
