Shaolins as well as fighters have their own skill which increases their chance to survive. Because shaolins have some amount of mana, they use it together with their vitality to survive. So if a shaolin has less hitpoints than the hit takes, instead of death he loses that amount of mana and stamina and his hp decreases to one. And as its name suggests, this skill is dependant on the Sun, so if shaolin fights under sunshine, sunlink is much more effective, i.e. it costs less mana than otherwise, and at night sunlink is more expensive than during the day.
