Not just a useless aesthetical feature of swordsmen to catch an eye of their comrades, this block is actually supremely functional. Moving the swords in a delicate pattern the swordsman can distract their enemy just ever so slightly, enough to provide few extra openings and make the enemy misjudge their attacks at the same time. The effects are small but in a fight to death every little bit counts. This block is effective against all types of damage, even against more exotic melee attacks like flaming claws or corrosive touches. The price for universality is its low power, the bonuses it provides are much smaller than the specialized blocks.
