This is the first of the swordsmen blocking skills. Although most of these skills are defensive, this one is a bit different. When you are using "high block" in your combat, your priority is offense, but you are still cautious and ready to block enemy\'s attack in case of danger. You can parry one or two attacks very well, but more attacks on you means trouble. You are wielding your sword high, often with stretched arms, so there is a chance, that you will lost your weapon, while parrying an attack. It can be used against enemies with low number of attacks such as casters... This block can also be used offensively as you are holding the sword in a position highly suitable for downward slashes. Finally, holding the sword high allows quick switch of balance via kick for better attacks in next round. This requires the upgraded kick called deathkick.
