Priests are masters of healing, and their main task is usually to ake care of the group. This can be very demanding on their mana reserves, but as priests studied the art of healing more thoroughly, they discovered a way how to channel mana to group heals more effectively, reducing manacost of group heals. This skill applies only to real group healing spells, not to normal healing spells cast via groupcast.
