Dwarf



Dwarves are sometimes referred to as "stone people" because of their
great underground cities and halls they built. They are sturdy and have great
body build. They are nowhere as big as trolls, but definitely not weaker. They
are a little clumsy when it comes to the magic and they are actually able to
resist magic as well. Their warriors are raised with axes and hammers with the
shields in their other hands.

Most dwarves find their calling while wielding hammers and axes. They are
excellent fighters, both offensive with massive two-handed hammers or axes, and
defensive with one-handed hammer or axe and a shield. Those attracted to the
divine often turn out to be extraordinary paladins. There are also known cases
of dwarves using both hammer and axe with roguish tactics.

Traits:
Hammer/Axe/Shield Proficiency is something other heroes call a handling and
usage of hammers/axes/shields beyond standard limits. Dwarves are drilled since
they are born and anyone leaving stone halls to wander the world is master of
hammer, axe and shield combat. Their weapon proficiency increases damage done
by the weapon by 10%, increases chance to parry, increases weapon spell damage
of that weapon by 25%, also increases all stats of the weapon by additional
10%. Shield Proficiency also allows wearing of any shield regardless of its
weight, makes the shield harder to disarm with neural shock, reduces all damage
taken by 5%, increase chance to block with the shield and also increase all
shield stats by 10%. Using a hammer or an axe or a shield also increases racial
Extended Attributes by one level. Furthermore, if the dwarf has both hammer and
axe or one of them and a shield, bonuses to the Extended Attributes add up (but
not if the dwarf has two hammers or two axes, the effect only activates if the
dwarf uses two different proficiencies).

Magic resistance comes from their forefathers. This effectively reduces any
spell damage taken by 7%. Also, dwarf gets -5 bonus to all saving throws. This
bonus can take dwarf's saving bonus beyond maximum.
